Day Two
Woke up at 4:45am so I’m a bit tired now (7pm). Got off to a rough start. Someone parked in the NO PARKING spot near the only exit to the parking lot and as I was delicately maneuvering through too-small space, a building jumped out at me and nicked the slight rise above the passenger side rear wheel well on the jetta. Not pretty looking but not the end of the world. I’ve learned quickly enough that unless you have covered parking and a reserved spot, you cannot keep a decent car in the city. It’s been a rough few months for the jetta. First that truck tried to run me off the road, breaking the passenger side mirror. Then one of the ignition coils went out (this is a design or materials flaw) and now there’s an 8″ crease on the wheel well.
The rest of the day was much better. It didn’t rain so being outside for 5 hours was bearable and the other 3 hours were indoors. My footwear was inappropriate for one objective so on the way home I picked up a new pair of boots and fought my way through ridiculous Buckhead traffic. Tomorrow is the big day. That’s when it either all comes together or (perhaps literally) falls apart
. Should be interesting to see who, if anybody, gets “kicked off the island”.
