McNugget Manor Nears Completion

Another beautiful Saturday spent working on the coop. Today I put on the floor, finished the sides, and cut holes for the doors.

I used a big piece of 3/4″ plywood for the floor. I don’t like plywood but it was way cheaper than using wood that the chickens would appreciate anyway.

Here’s the installed floor. I also added some braces to the top corners just to make it a little stronger. Now its as solid as a tank.

Threw on some siding… I was able to use bits of scrap to cover the top 6 inches. It already has that shantytown look to it so it seemed fitting.

Then added some trim all around to cover the seams.

And put the roof back on for a fit test. Now the coop weights approximately 800lbs but its a decent looking 800lbs. I need to get the roof attached, figure out how to cover the triangular areas at the ends and waterproof the whole thing with water seal or stain or paint and put some doors on. I haven’t designed those yet.
