BMW Motorcycles Of Atlanta Open House 2008
There were a number of F-bikes there, including a few Dakars:

Like this beauty, a 2007. Think this one belongs to the owner of the shop but is now up for sale.

This one looks familiar. There were two of them.
One lady I spoke to had ridden her F650GS (not sure if it was a Dakar) with her husband (also on an F650GS) from somewhere to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and from Prudhoe Bay to Key West. The one-way trip from Alaska was done in 14 days. That's 5552 miles. She said her bike has over 80,000 miles on it and is still running great.

Some of the regular F650s were there too, like this very nice new one. It had GPS, radar detector, and some other gadgets installed. Check out those PIAA driving lights on the front. Gotta get some of those.
Of course anybody who's anybody on a bike has an 1150 or 1200, and the real men have the GS Adventures. They were all well represented along with one KTM 950 Adventure (very cool) and some Ducatis (maybe next time). They also had food on the grill and 20% off stuff in the store. Thought I would get another pair of riding pants but, as usual, most of the stuff they have is XXL or so small I can't believe such a person could ride a bike.
