Galleries That Incorporate Google Maps

I found a few galleries that integrate Google Maps into their display using various handcrafted modules, themes, or non-Gallery custom code:

Google Earth For The Masses

Not to harp on Google Earth continuously but FoxNews is running a piece describing it, not as a geek toy, but as a tool anybody can use and enjoy.

"Google Earth (search), a satellite imagery-based mapping product that combines three-dimensional buildings and terrain with mapping capabilities and Google search options, allows users to zoom in on any location around the globe. Just type in a street or exact address, and take a slightly dizzying flight to your end destination."

Weekend Trip To Savannah

This weekend Michael, Wanda, Kishan, and I went to Savannah for an overnighter. It was a good opportunity to try out linking gps tracks with images. I haven't modified Gallery yet to support the additional EXIF fields but I did make a Google Map complete with the track and images from today's walking tour. You can see it here. Clicking on a pink location marker will display a small version of the photo taken at (or near) that location.

The pictures aren't that good but you can find them all here. Additionally, Michael put up his photos from the trip.
